Children need love, respect and care of an adult who understands and guides them through the developmental stages of their childhood. An adult’s job is to facilitate the learning process in the direction of the children’s interests with developmentally appropriate practices. Children must have a healthy, nurturing and safe environment which fulfills their basic needs and aids learning by giving them challenges. Early years of children’s lives are the foundations that shapes their personality, health, growth, development and learning which influence their success in life.

     My role as an early childhood professional is that of a guide, to find new things to learn and share, move in the direction that interests children while keeping them safe and providing developmentally appropriate activities. I respect, appreciate and build relationships by observing and understanding. I like to be a teacher that my students will always remember as a guide who supported them as an individual who can achieve what they try for and work on. I am dedicated, flexible and always willing to help.

     My biggest strength is my flexibility and willingness to learn. I reflect on my practice and stay organized and never stop learning. My goals as a teacher will be to inspire, motivate and facilitate the learning of the children. I promote a welcoming and positive culture to boost the spirits and motivate the students in a learning environment. My strategies to promote my own growth as a teacher is to take risks and value challenges. I would learn from my mistakes and set goals using creative strategies. My weakness is lack of experience and an awful singing voice which will of course improve with time.

     I believe young children are important. They need proper guidance at a very young age that benefits them later in life. I want to play that important role which is fulfilling and makes a difference in a child’s life. My relationship with the families would be trusting and keeping them informed. I will be flexible, respectful and value the experience of my colleagues and administration while working as a team towards a common goal.
